CAMRA LocAle promotes pubs stocking locally-brewed real ale.

The scheme builds on growing consumer demand for quality local produce and increased awareness of “green” issues.

Everyone benefits from local pubs stocking locally-brewed real ale

  • Pubs – as stocking local real ales can increase pub visits
  • Consumers – who enjoy greater beer choice and diversity
  • Local brewers – who gain from increased sales
  • The local economy – because more money is spent and retained locally
  • The environment – with fewer “beer miles” on deliveries, reducing road congestion and pollution
  • Tourism – by increasing a sense of local identity and pride. Let’s celebrate what makes our locality different.

Many CAMRA branches have already launched LocAle schemes to encourage local pubs to offer locally brewed beers. The rules vary our new North Bedfordshire scheme will highlight real ales brewed within about 30 miles of Bedford.

We are currently discussing the new scheme with a number of local pub licensees. All pubs that join will be listed on this page. If you run a local pub or club and would like to join LocAle, please contact either Don Allan or Peter Argyle (see Contact Us).
